Photography is a powerful art form. Based in reality and representing a single moment in time, it has the power to move people to feel in ways other media cannot. This is precisely why I am drawn to it.

I am fascinated by the human experience, not just on the individual level but our shared experience on this planet. I aim to create images that shine a light on some aspect of this existence, point to some part of this life that we don't fully understand, and provoke observers to ask questions of their own. Furthermore, I want to evoke emotion: any emotion from melancholy to joy, intimacy, contemplation … whatever captivates the viewer.

Utilizing digital and analog photography, interviews with subjects, digital manipulation or darkroom techniques, I use whatever means necessary to get to the essence of my vision. This creates variety in the style of my work, which suits me very well.
Whether capturing an absurdist still-life, editorial portraits, street photography, minimalism or abstract expressionism … in the end I just want people to slow down and truly consider their place, and our place, in the world.
